Chris Cote, Principal

Chris brings more than 20 years of experience to the helm at Cote Architecture.  Prior to starting his own firm he spent a majority of his career as Associate Principal at Foster Associates, an award winning RI firm.  Chris’ work has been featured in multiple publications including Architect Magazine, Design New England and Rhode Island Monthly.

Since graduating from the Roger Williams University School of Architecture with a Bachelor of Architecture in 2000, Chris has practiced in both California and Rhode Island, working on projects in CA, RI, MA, NH, VT, NY, NC, FL, CO and Canada. He is a Registered Architect in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Chris always wanted to be an architect. The son and grandson of homebuilders, he channels their knowledge and craft in his own way through a very hands-on approach and an incredible respect for the talented builders and craftspeople who he’s fortunate to work with.

As a member of the Board of Trustees at the Pennfield School in Portsmouth, RI, Chris serves as the chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee as well as co-chair for the school’s annual Golf Tournament, one of the largest fundraisers for the school.

Chris is happiest spending time with his wife Anna, their two boys and their pair of unruly French Bulldogs.
